  • The #wintercarnival first started back in 1886 when a reporter from New York came and said that the area was like Siberia and unfit for human habitation.
  • Legend of #KingBoreas & #VulcanusRex

King Boreas, the King of the Winds made Saint Paul the capitol of all his domains and the winter playground of the Realm of Boreas.

Vulcanus Rex, the god of Fire, and the enemy of Boreas, does everything he can to destroy the festivities.

For ten glorious days, there is a Carnival and joyous celebration in Saint Paul — feasting, dancing, fun and frolic reigned over by Boreas and the Queen of Snows.

On the final day of celebration, Vulcanus Rex and his Krewe storm the castle and confront the King’s Guard. King Boreas bades farewell to the people of his winter capitol, in the interest of peace and goodwill, and returns to dwell among the gods of Olympus until the frosty atmosphere of winter returns.
